Brad
Rountree, Associate Pastor - Music & Worship
brad@newliberty.com
In the fall of
1977, Bro. Brad joined the staff at New Liberty. As a recent graduate
of Ouachita Baptist University, he came to Texas to begin work on
his Master's Degree in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth. During the last 27 years at New Liberty,
Bro. Brad says God has blessed his life and ministry in so many
ways. He married Rhonda Ashlock in 1983 and they have one son, Timothy
- the joy of our lives, who was born in 1987.
During
his life-journey, he has seen the worship ministries of New Liberty
grow deeper in their love for the Lord and for the work in this
place. His responsibility of leading in worship each week has
caused him to be constantly seeking new and meaningful ways to present
the Gospel through music and to involve the many members of the
church family.
Along with the ministries within the church, he has tried to reach
outside the church walls and be a witness. He has served along
side Bro. Ken as his Police Chaplain assistant in Garland for
more than 22 years. One great joy through the years, he says,
has been serving in Timothy's school in PTA, and Football Booster
Club, and now at Poteet High School on the Site-Based Committee.
“God
has given me many opportunities to share my passion for Worship
and Singing. From concerts in the Philippines to singing in Carnegie
Hall with the Dallas Symphony Chorus . . . each new door opens
for me an opportunity to share my music and my Christ. May God
alone receive the glory from my life and the ministry in this
place."
