LEAD PASTOR INTERN

Training in the teaching and preaching ministry 

  • ***Collaborate with pastors developing preaching series

  • ***Coaching in sermon and lesson development, delivery and evaluation 

  • Involvement in Christian education ministry (Scope and sequence of lessons)


Training in Pastoral Care 

  • ***Involvement in hospital visits 

  • Participation in funeral and wedding events and planning 

  • ***Participation in guest follow up 

  • Observation in pastoral counseling when appropriate (Intern is expected to maintain pastoral confidentiality)

 

Training in Pastoral Networking 

  • ***Participation in local association meetings 

  • Participation in state and national association meetings 

  • Involvement in mission works and associational leadership

 

Training in General Pastoral ministry 

  • ***Participating in weekly staff meetings 

  • Possibly attending training conferences 

  • ***Participate in coaches and leaders meeting 

  • ***Participate in community ministry opportunities 

  • ***Involvement in committee meetings and business meetings 

  • ***Training and or participation in the church ordinances 

  • Other ________________________. 


Training in Personal Development 

  • ***1 day a month the intern experience a day in the life of their mentor.

  • Establish a prayer and Bible study routine that mirrors what your mentor is doing. 

  • Active involvement in a biblical community (small group)

STUDENTS PASTOR INTERN

  • ***Coaching in sermon and lesson development, delivery and evaluation 

  • ***Involvement in Christian education of the youth ministry (Scope and sequence of lessons) and alignment with New Liberty’s mission statement.

Training in Pastoral Care 

  • ***Involvement in hospital visits 

  • Participation in funeral and wedding events and planning 

  • ***Participation in guest follow up 

  • Observation in pastoral counseling when appropriate *Intern is expected to maintain pastoral confidentiality 

  • ***Involvement in students extracurricular events.

CHILDREN’S DIRECTOR INTERN

Training in the teaching of children 

  • ***Collaborate with leaders in developing and implementing lesson plans for Sunday School, Children’s Chapel and other children’s programs

  • ***Coaching in lesson development, delivery and evaluation 

  • Involvement in Christian education ministry (Scope and sequence of lessons)

  • ***Coaching in the presentation of the Gospel to children


Training in Community Outreach 

  • ***Involvement in community events  

  • Attending students’ events such as sports, concerts, etc. 

  • ***Participation in guest follow up 

  • Coaching in scheduling and implementing children’s ministry events

 

Training in Networking 

  • Involvement in camp and mission work leadership team meetings

  • ***Participation in children’s ministry volunteer meetings 

 

Training in General Children’s ministry 

  • ***Participating in weekly staff meetings 

  • Possibly attending training conferences 

  • ***Participate in community ministry opportunities
